About the Role

Proxima Intelligence is placing a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer on a long-term contract engagement with a Fortune 50 manufacturing client. This is a hands-on engineering role — you will be building and owning production data pipelines that feed enterprise analytics and AI initiatives.

You will work directly with the client's data and AI teams. Proxima provides the engagement structure, oversight, and career support. The work is real, the client is serious, and the engagement is built to last.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain Snowflake data models and pipelines supporting enterprise analytics and AI workloads
• Develop and manage dbt projects — models, tests, documentation, CI/CD integration
• Build and maintain Matillion ETL pipelines ingesting from ERP, CRM, and operational systems
• Collaborate with data scientists and AI teams to deliver clean, reliable data for model training and inference
• Optimize Snowflake performance and cost — warehouse sizing, clustering, query profiling
• Participate in code reviews, enforce data quality standards, and contribute to engineering best practices

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake — data modeling, performance tuning, cost optimization
• Strong dbt — models, tests, macros, incremental strategies
• Matillion ETL — pipeline design and production deployments
• SQL and Python — both required, not optional
• Experience building and maintaining production data pipelines at enterprise scale
• Comfortable working directly with data consumers and business stakeholders
• Self-starter — you own your work end to end, no hand-holding

Nice to Have

• Experience in manufacturing, automotive, or supply chain data environments
• Familiarity with AI/ML data enablement — feature stores, training data pipelines
• Informatica experience
• Azure Data Factory or similar cloud-native orchestration
